GENERAL INFO
Weekends on Wednesdays are weekly summer events for all students entering grades 6-8. Each Wednesday we’ll meet at church at the time indicated, have a short devotion & prayer, get to know those who are coming, then hop aboard our vans to embark on a new adventure. The vans will return students to church at the time indicated. Students should be dropped off and picked up in the Commons at the Café area. REGISTRATION Reserve your spot by registering and pay online by the Sunday night before the event. Your payment holds your spot on one of the vans, so register soon! If there are still seats on the vans available after Sunday night, you will still be able to register online, but there are no guarantees! We’ll close registration down when all van seats are full. Registration fees are nonrefundable. However, your registration is transferable to another student if you are unable to attend an event for which you registered.
MEDICAL FORMS Medical release forms are required to participate in all WOW events. The CrossTraining/JV medical release form completed in fall covers students through summer. Guests & our new 6th graders must fill one out & submit via email or bring to the event. Friends are welcome at ALL of the WOW events! Just have them register and pay online, then bring their medical release form to the next WOW event. (See T-shirt note below*)
T-SHIRTS In order to participate in the WOW activities, you’ll need to wear a WOW t-shirt to all events. This helps our group stay together and recognize each other. If you have a shirt from previous years, you do not need to purchase a new one. Shirts are $8.00 and are available for purchase online. They will be available for pick-up at all events. If your child forgets his/her shirt, he will need to purchase a new one—it’s that important!
*If you’re bringing a one-time guest, we’ll loan them a T-shirt. If they’re coming two or more times, they need to purchase their very own shirt! BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS We’ve been really blessed with some GREAT kids who love Jesus in past years, strong examples of Christianity in action in a variety of settings. You can be confident the designated leaders Julie, Kendra and Rebecca expect the same of all students this year as well, and will do all we can to help educate young people in love to ensure that great behavior continues.
PARENT VOLUNTEERS Parents, you're welcome to get in on the fun any time, too! If we have need of additional chaperones for an event, we will cover your cost for the events entirely as a thank-you. Email or text Rebecca (402-477-3616) directly; she will let you know if additional chaperones are needed for that event. If you are needed to drive your vehicle, you can be modestly reimbursed.
WEATHER CANCELLATIONS & COMMUNICATION For rescheduling and cancellations due to inclement weather, we will text you directly. You can also check the website or call one of the coordinators. We discourage students bringing electronics and our chaperones do not take responsibility for personal electronics or money WOW students bring along. Students are able to use a chaperone’s cell phone if necessary.
