Tom Grunow

Director of Biblical Generosity

May 23 (Detroit, Michigan)
Education: Diploma Ladue High School (St. Louis) 1971; A.A. Concordia Austin 1973; B.A. Concordia River Forest 1975; M.Ed. University of Central Florida 1979.
Personal information: Father was a LCMS Pastor & Professor at the St. Louis Seminary. Father-in-law was a roadster race car driver (A.J. Foyt worked his pit crew). Both Mother and Mother-in-law were wonderful housewives and great cooks (I attest to the latter). Met future wife, Karin Brown (a real Texan), at Concordia Austin as both of us prepared for church work. Married 7/5/75 (easy to remember anniversary). "Our Three Sons": Tim, married to Kylie (Oregon); Todd married to Shrine (NYC/NJ), Tristan (to be married soon, we hope, maybe Japan). Our Three Grandgirls in Oregon: Ava, Audrey, Anna (notice the alliteration which is required to be in a Grunow family).
Here at Christ Lutheran Church since: 2013
Contact information: Tom Grunow     Office phone: (402) 483-7774, ext. 107
Enjoys: Kids! (waiting for more grandkiddos!)
Water! Hot tubing, Swimming, Scuba Diving, River Rafting, and the Beach (Nebraska right)?
Cards! Pinochle, Euchre, Bridge & Spades (play to win!)
Oregon Duck Football & Uniforms (hmmmm!)
Travel of any type to any place (at least once!)
Fun fact: I can float on water a very long time (I did not say walk!)
What I love about my position: Meeting, talking and sharing God's Word and revealing His blessings with people of all ages (my church office is in a perfect place to get together but my second office may be better-suited for a cup of coffee (Starbucks)! Stop in at either place!
Bible verse with special personal meaning:
Malachi 3:10 Version: "Test me in this, says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be enough room to store it.”

Winston Churchill Version:"We make a living by what we get. But we make a life by what we give."
